Klaas Kuiken graduated in 2010 from ArtEZ in Product Design. Klaas highlights the hidden beauty in everyday products. He reimagines mass-produced items to make them feel special again, playful, personal, and full of character.
Inspired by How It’s Made, he mixes craftsmanship with mass production, creating objects that are both unique and standardized. Since 2019, he also runs the bold design studio WhiteNoiseDada with Charley Reijnders.
The Potvase is a new and interesting take on the simple terracotta pot. Klaas has transformed an everyday object into something unexpected, capturing its familiar shape in a hand-blown glass vase to elevate the familiar design of the terracotta pot. The contrast between glass and clay creates a poetic, symbiotic object.
